LSU football coach Brian Kelly said backup quarterback Michael Van Buren is getting all of the snaps this week with the first team offense as the Tigers used the bye week to give starter Garrett Nussmeier a chance to rest an ab strain. Kelly also said its false that Nussmeier needs surgery. The coach expects Nussmeier will be ready for the South Carolina Gamecocks on October 11th.

The Saints will face rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart Sunday. Dart made his first start last week against the Chargers and lifted the Giants to a 21-18 win. Coach Kellen Moore says Dart has an excellent skill set.

That is Demons quarterback Abram Johnston, who made his first collegiate start last season against the Lions and threw for 301 yards and a touchdown, but also threw two costly interceptions. Kickoff at Turpin Stadium is at 6 p-m.

New Orleans will host the College Football Playoff championship in 2028 and the Big Easy will also host a C-F-P quarterfinal game. The city also hosted both games in the same year in 2020. Jeff Hundley, the chief executive officer of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, says this will be a huge economic impact for the city.
