The mother of the 12-year-old New Orleans boy whose body was pulled from a lagoon near the home he disappeared from 12 days earlier has been arrested. Andrew Greenstein reports.

Poultry company Foster Farms has finalized its sale of its facilities in Farmerville, Arcadia and Athens to North Carolina-based Case Farms. Foster Farms CEO Jayson Penn says they hope to see continued success of northeast Louisiana’s poultry operations under Case Farms.

 

It was 90 years ago today when former Governor Huey Long was shot inside the State Capitol. Two days later, Long, who was a U.S. Senator at the time, would die at the age of 42. Richard White wrote a book on Huey Long’s life; he said all in all, Huey Long was a fascinating man.

Long was at the Capitol for a redistricting session on September 8th, 1935, when physician Carl Weiss shot him. Long’s bodyguards returned fire, killing him.

 

LSU Coach Brian Kelly was not as upset today as he was Saturday night following the Tigers 23-7 lackluster win over Louisiana Tech. Kelly says his team did a lot of good things, but it was not an elite performance…
