Tulane had an impressive win on Saturday as they easily defeated Northwestern from the Big 10 23 to 3. The Green Wave’s new starting quarterback Jake Retzlaff threw for 152 yards and touchdown, he also rushed for 113 yards and a score. Tulane visits South Alabama this Saturday.

For the second straight home game, Louisiana Tech didn’t allow a point in a 24-to-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana. It was announced at halftime the Bulldogs will officially join the Sun Belt on July 1st. Tech is at LSU this Saturday.

Nicholls led Troy by a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Trojans scored 28 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Colonels 38 to 20.

McNeese had a school record 664 yards in a 54 to 9 win over Louisiana Christian. With the win, Matt Viator became the school’s all-time winningest coach.

C’Zavaian Teasett threw three touchdowns as Grambling easily defeated Langston 55 to 7 and Southern won its SWAC opener, beating Mississippi Valley State 34 to 29. Cam’Ron McCoy threw a TD pass and ran for another score.
