The Southeastern Conference announces that starting in 2026 the league will have a nine-game conference schedule in football. The SEC has been playing eight conference games since 1992. Big game tomorrow for the Nichols State football team as they host the fourth-ranked Incarnate Word Cardinals, and the game will be nationally televised on ESPN2. It is not often that Nicholls is able to showcase its football program coast to coast. Athletic director Jonathan Terrell (tuh-RELL) says they jumped at the chance to play in Week Zero on national T-V.
