A federal Grand Jury has indicted New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell. Details of the indictment that was announced Friday are still coming in but she is the first mayor to face federal charges while still in office. Reports of a Federal investigation into her activities began in 2022 and people surrounding her have been indicted including her former bodyguard and alleged boyfriend who has been charged with defrauding the New Orleans Police Department.
