Marksville state Representative Robert Johnson says legislators must do whatever they can to prevent another incident like last Tuesday’s fatal city marshal shooting from happening again. Eric Gill reports…:

Legendary New Orleans songwriter, producer, arranger, performer, and Grammy winner, Allen Toussaint, died Monday while he was on tour in Europe, according to his family. Toussaint was on tour in Spain and died after his performance. He was 77.

The Council for a Better Louisiana and Louisiana Public Broadcasting are hosting tonight’s televised gubernatorial debate between Republican David Vitter and Democrat John Bel Edwards. CABLE President Barry Erwin says viewers can expect the candidates to discuss familiar issues..:

We’ll find out tonight were LSU will stand on the second week’s announcement of this season’s CFP rankings. Jerry Palm, with CBSsports.com, doesn’t think the Tigers one loss to Alabama will mean they couldn’t make the playoffs, and his prediction tonight is that LSU will come in at No. 5, down from No. 2…:
