Authorities continue to investigate the case of the City Marshals in Marksville who are accused in the case of the shooting death of a 6-year-old boy and wounding of of his father. A bail hearing is reportedly underway at this hour for 32-year-old Derrick Stafford and 23-year-old Norris Greenhouse, who each face charges of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder. Little Jeremy Mardis is set to be laid to rest today in Mississippi, while his father, Chris Few remains hospitalized.

By now you’ve probably seen the commercial Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Bel Edwards is running accusing Republican opponent David Vitter of answering a prostitute’s call after skipping a vote to honor soldiers killed in the line of duty. Political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Edwards is on the attack, because internal polls must be showing Vitter is gaining ground…

The two candidates are slated to go face-to-face at noon as they are both expected to appear at the Baton Rouge press club.

Once again Governor Bobby Jindal is not invited to take part in a main nationally televised Republican Presidential debate. It’s the fourth time Jindal is set, instead, to appear in the under-card forum — it’ll be tomorrow night at 6pm on the Fox Business Network. The two hour prime-time debate is set for 8pm. Jindal will share the stage with Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, of Pennsylvania.
