After Shreveport Republican Senator Alan Seabaugh ripped Governor Landry on KEEL radio last week, the governor went on its morning show to give his response. Seabaugh especially had some choice words over Landry using his line-item veto power to scrap four of his projects. Landry says there simply wasn’t enough money for all the projects the legislature gave him.

Democrats have said dozens of rural hospitals will close because of President Trump’s spending bill. But executive director of the Louisiana Rural Hospital Coalition, Jeff Reynolds, says hospitals are not in danger of closing anytime soon and a hospital closing is extremely rare….

The governor has also announced that the Louisiana National Guard Training Center in Pineville will go back to being called Camp Beauregard. The installation’s name was changed in 2022, because the facility was named after a Confederate General. Now the training center will be named after Captain Jacques Toutant Beauregard, a member of the Louisiana Milita who fought in the 1815 Battle of New Orleans.
