Louisiana has a team of firefighters in Texas assisting in efforts to find victims from the catastrophic flood that took place in central Texas. At least 90 people are dead or missing. The firefighters have rescue boats and specialized gear to save lives in flood emergencies. Baton Rouge fire chief Michael Kimble says they are some of the most qualified and dedicated individuals around.

Congratulations to Garrett Nussmeier. LSU’s starting quarterback got engaged over the Fourth of July weekend to his longtime girlfriend Ella Springfield. Springfield is an LSU alum who lives in Dallas. The couple shared their news on Instagram and Nussmeier posted the caption “Forever Us.” No word on a wedding date as Nussmeier prepares for his final season at LSU looking to guide the Tigers to the College Football Playoff.
