Fifty-one men and women of Cadet Class 107 have just begun their journey today toward becoming Louisiana State Police Troopers. Trooper Shelby Mayfield says over the next 24 weeks, they’ll train in firearms, defensive tactics, civil rights and more. They’ll graduate in May and a new class will start in January. LSU pitcher Kade Anderson has been named Baseball America’s 2025 Pitcher of the Year. Anderson commanded the mound for the Tigers this season with a nation-leading 180 strikeouts in 119 innings. The sophomore finished the season with a 12-and-1 record and 3.18 ERA. He’ll have a chance to go number one overall in the MLB Draft July 13.
