The LSU Tigers are national champs for the eighth time in baseball as the Tigers took down Coastal Carolina two games to none with a five to three win on Sunday afternoon in Omaha. Jay Johnson becomes the first college baseball coach to win two national championships in his first four seasons at a school.
LSU’s pitching was too much for Coastal Carolina. The Tigers got great starts from Kade Anderson and Anthony Eyanson over the weekend. Chase Shores was great out of the bullpen and Chris Stanfield and Derek Curiel supplied the offense, each getting a two-run single yesterday. A three-judge panel of the Fifth U-S Circuit Court of Appeals is citing a 1980 U-S Supreme Court ruling for declaring the state’s Ten Commandments law as unconstitutional. Loyola University Law Professor Dane Ciolino says analysis of the 1980 ruling has evolved, but the essence of the opinion has held steady which is why the courts have said it’s unconstitutional to require the Ten Commandments to be posted in every public school classroom…
