The latest independent poll on Louisiana’s gubernatorial runoff shows Democrat John Bel Edwards with a 20 point lead over Republican David Vitter. The Nextstar TV stations/JMC Analytics survey shows Edwards with 52-percent and Vitter 32-percent of the vote. Pollster John Couvillon isn’t surprised…:

The elderly woman from Slidell who lost her wedding ring while passing out candy to trick or treaters Halloween night has found the cherished item. Slidell Police Sgt. Daniel Seuzeneau says it ended up being in the yard where she was sitting that night and everyone is so relieved it didn’t walk off..:

LSU Lady Tigers play by play man Patrick Wright will be filling in for Jim Hawthorne during the Alabama game Saturday night, while the Voice of the Tigers recovers from a successful medical procedure. Wright says during the radio broadcast of the top 10 SEC matchup, they’ll briefly lament Hawthorne’s absence, but he knows Jim would want the focus to stay on the game…:

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says they’ve recovered the body of a missing boater from the Atchafalaya River. They say 56-year-old William Seal of Butte LaRose had not been seen since he set off for a day of fishing Sunday morning. His body was turned over to the St. Martin Coroner’s Office to determine a cause of death.
