Anderson who is second in the nation in strikeouts is a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist. The award goes to the best player in college baseball.

They are celebrating in Stonewall as North DeSoto won its second state championship in baseball on Saturday with a seven to four win over top-seeded Brusly. Sophomore Preston Eaves got the win as he threw four innings and survived a late rally by the Panthers in the seventh inning…

UNO rallied twice on Saturday to beat Northwestern State and win the Hammond bracket of the Southland Conference Tournament. The Privateers advance to play Houston Christian. Regular season champion Southeastern Louisiana will have to hope for an at-large bid.
