A new poll on the governor’s race shows Democrat John Bel Edwards leading Republican David Vitter by a 52 to 40% margin. But the survey was conducted on behalf of the anti-Vitter Gumbo PAC. Political analyst Clancy Dubos believes Edwards could actually be higher than 12 points…:

He also feels with Vitter’s unfavorability rating rising, and Edwards’ recent endorsement by the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association, could be a sign of things to come.

The State Department of Education has released letter grades for Louisiana public high schools with grades 9-12, and found that the number of institutions earning an “A” went from 10 percent last year to 23 percent this year. They says ACT scores and graduation rates are major factors in the improvement. 40 schools got an A, 50 a B, 38 a C, 35 a D and 13 got an F.

The top 10 marquee matchup between LSU and Alabama next weekend in Tuscaloosa is once again proving to be an extremely hot ticket. But Cameron Papp, with the secondary ticket market StubHub, says, so far, prices are lower than the 2013 game between the rivals. He says the lowest priced ticket to Bryant Denny Stadium on November 7th is $195:

Organizers with Bayou Country Superfest say they are expanding to three days for the 2016 concerts in Tiger Stadium. They plan a November 10th announcement of performers for the shows which will run May 27th-29th next year.
