The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office says a Plaquemine man, accused of selling methadone to a man who later died of an overdose, is now charged with second degree murder. They say investigators determined that 30-year-old Jeremy Doiron sold the drugs which caused Nicholas LeBlanc’s overdose death in August. Under Louisiana law, drug dealers can be charged with second degree murder in drug overdose deaths.

AARP of Louisiana has released a video featuring the two gubernatorial candidates discussing their views on policies which impact older voters. Spokesman Andrew Muhl says, on November 21st, voters will be setting the course for the future of our state, which faces major budgeting challenges especially around heath care financing.
