According to the Tangipahoa Parish School System website, an arrest has been made in the case of the threats against Hammond area schools last night via social media. It indicates the juvenile confessed to posting the threatening message. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Hammond Police conducted a sweep of various campuses this morning but they say no contraband was found. School officials say normal activities may resume.

The massive amounts of rainfall we’ve had in Louisiana over the past several days has been hurting the sugarcane industry as farmers harvest their crop. LSU Ag Center sugarcane specialist, Kenneth Gravois, says sugarcane farmers are equipped to handle the wet conditions in the field, but its still has a negative financial impact for producers…:
