The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority approved its Fiscal Year 2026 Annual Plan, outlining nearly two-billion dollars in spending for projects that aim to protect and restore the state’s eroding coastline. In its first year, the LA GATOR scholarship program has proven to be a hit – maybe a little too much of a hit. So much so that it’s unlikely that the state can accommodate all applicants.
