Cops say the couple found dead in their vehicle at a truck stop in Hammond were kidnapped from their Baton Rouge home and strangled to death. The victims have been identified as Denis and Suzanne Duplantier. Baton Rouge Police Corporal L’Jean McKneely says the investigation is in its early stages…:

The Baton Rouge Police Department is looking for three men after they say a 15-year-old girl was found bound and gagged in a drainage canal this afternoon. They say the girl had been tied up in the woods since last night.
The Lake Charles Police Department says a 3-year-old child was shot during a suspected home invasion early this morning. They say the homeowner reported he told two burglars that he didn’t have any money and that’s when they began beating him with a gun that discharged and struck the toddler. Deputy Chief Mark Kraus says this crime will not go unpunished…:

Saints Assistant coach Joe Vitt was injured when trying to stop people from breaking into vehicles in his Metairie neighborhood according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. They say Vitt noticed someone in his car and a woman trying to break into a neighbor’s car when he gave chase before taking a big tumble.
