The LSU Tigers finished off 2024 with a 44 to 31 win over the Baylor Bears in the Texas Bowl. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns to finish with over four-thousand yards passing on the season.

Aaron Anderson had eight catches for 91 yards, Chris Hilton caught four passes for 113 yards and a touchdown and freshman tight end Trey’Dez Green caught six passes for 53 yards and two touchdowns.

Green wasn’t the only freshman who had a big game. Coach Brian Kelly praised the freshmen who contributed on defense, including Tylen Singleton,  Dashawn Spears and Javien Toviano….

Cut 14 (16) “…a healthy roster.”

Linebacker Whit Weeks went down with a gruesome ankle injury, but Kelly said after the surgery, Weeks should be ready for spring ball.

A couple of SEC Teams who made their case to be in the College Football Playoff lost yesterday in regular bowl games. Michigan held on to beat 11th ranked Alabama 19 to 13 in the Reliaquest Bowl in Tampa.

And 15th ranked South Carolina lost to 20th ranked Illinois 21 to 17 in the Citrus Bowl.

Tonight it is the Sugar Bowl, a quarterfinal playoff game as Georgia takes on Notre Dame. Bulldogs Coach Kirby Smart on the matchup in New Orleans…
