LSU has added a quarterback to its roster who started eight games in the SEC in 2024. Freshman Michael Van Buren was pressed into the starting role at Mississippi State when Blake Shapen went down with a season-ending injury. In 10 games, Van Buren threw for 1,886 yards and 11 TDs. LSU has also landed a commitment from edge rusher Jack Pyburn. Pyburn was Florida’s second leading tackler this season as he recorded 60 tackles, four tackles for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble and an interception. He’s played in 29 games over the last three seasons. He’s the second edge rusher to come to LSU out of the transfer portal, the other is Nebraska’s Jimari Butler.
