Instead of boarding a plane today, the LSU football team will play in Tiger Stadium tomorrow against South Carolina. The Gamecocks are headed to Baton Rouge because of severe flooding in the Columbia, South Carolina area. LSU Coach Les Miles is glad to play another home game, but doesn’t believe its the one advantage that will carry them to victory…

To make South Carolina feel a little more at home, LSU’s Golden Band from Tigerland will play the Gamecocks’ fight song tomorrow. LSU Band Director Roy King hopes they can play it as well as South Carolina’s band performs it…

The Saints will visit Philadelphia on Sunday to take on the Eagles. Both teams are 1-and-3 and who ever losses this game, will likely not make the playoffs. New Orleans running back CJ Spiller is expecting an intense battle…

In high school football last night; Ouachita Christian edged Sterlington 21-19, St. Louis Catholic downed South Beauregard 30-6, St. Martinville defeated Breaux Bridge 13-6 in overtime, and New Iberia Catholic beat Loreauville 41-14.

The Pelicans say a right calf strain will keep center Omer Asik sidelined for the next three weeks. Asik averaged a little over seven points and nearly 10 rebounds a game for the Pels last season. The Pelicans begin the regular season October 27th on the road against defending NBA champion Golden State.
