It’s national signing day for college football and the LSU Tigers signed the top two running backs in Louisiana, Harlem Berry from St. Martin’s High School in Metairie and J-T Lindsey from Alexandria Senior High. LSU also landed one of the top cornerbacks in the country as DJ Pickett from Florida signed with the Tigers. But one of the top defensive tackles, Jahkeem Stewart out of New Orleans, chose U-S-C.
The Ragin Cajuns signed 19 players today, including Coleman Carter a quarterback from Natchez, Mississippi. The Cajuns also signed a couple of local products, Acadiana receiver Russell Babineaux and Cecilia safety Brent Gordon, who is also outstanding in the return game.
The Saints returned to practice today to get ready for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants. Interim head coach Darren Rizzi says it’s looking good for starting offensive lineman Lucas Patrick and Erik McCoy to play on Sunday. The Giants have announced Drew Lock will start at quarterback.
