Authorities say the convicted killer who was mistakenly released from prison in East Feliciana Parish, was apprehended in Atlanta early this morning. Middle District of Louisiana US Marshal Kevin Harrison says they spoke with a number of people in Johnson’s hometown in Iberville Parish and learned he had connections in Georgia…

Baton Rouge Police have arrested a 19-year-old man after allegedly accidentally shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. Cpl. Ljean McKneely says Jason Williams claims he was removing a handgun from a dresser when it accidentally discharged. He says Williams was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison…

At last report, the woman is in critical but stable condition and the unborn child’s condition is listed as very critical.

A fatality crash in Concordia Parish has claimed the lives of three unrestrained people. Trooper Scott Moreau says an 18 wheeler crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Richard Stewart, Jr. of Vidalia head on. Stewart and two teenagers in the truck were killed. Moreau says there was also a 51-year-old passenger in the pickup who was buckled up and sustained moderate injuries…
