In a recent poll ranking Louisiana’s six most recent governors, former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards came in at number one among respondents. Current Governor Bobby Jindal ranked third, but when asked who was the worst governor, 42-percent of respondents picked Jindal. Edwards says this didn’t come as a surprise to him…

32-year-old Benjuiel Johnson , the convicted killer who was accidentally released from prison in East Feliciana Parish, has been captured in Atlanta. Middle District of Louisiana US Marshal Kevin Harrison credits the catch to the great efforts of all law enforcement involved…

Harrison says Johnson is awaiting extradition back to Louisiana.

State Police are investigating a fatality crash in Concordia Parish which claimed the lives of three unrestrained people. Trooper Scott Moreau says an 18 wheeler crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck driven by 49-year-old Richard Stewart, Jr. of Vidalia head on. Stewart and two teenagers in the truck were killed. Moreau says there was also a 51-year-old passenger in the Dodge who was buckled up and sustained moderate injuries…

Charges are pending against the driver of the 18-wheeler, Mark Gordon of Jonesville.

The Baton Rouge Police Department says a 19-year-old man is under arrest after he allegedly accidentally shot his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach. At last report, the woman is in critical but stable condition and the unborn child’s condition is listed as very critical. McKneely says Jason Williams fled the scene after the shooting…
