What a start to the season for the Saints as they scored a franchise record 47 points in a season opener and crushed NFC South rival Carolina 47 to 10. Quarterback Derek Carr threw three touchdown passes and the offense scored on its first nine possessions. Alvin Kamara rushed for 83 yards and a score. In his first NFL game, Jayden Daniels rushed for two touchdowns but the Commanders still lost to the Buccaneers 37-20. Washington released former kicker Cade York, who missed two field goals.
In LSU’s 44-21 win over Nicholls, the Tigers only ran it 21 times for 68 yards. Coach Brian Kelly said they ended up changing out of a lot of run plays at the line of scrimmage, because Nicholls had more defenders near the line of scrimmage than they could block. LSU-South Carolina will kick off at 11 AM this Saturday. ESPN’s College Gameday will be there. The Tigers next home game against UCLA on September 21st will kick off at 2:30 or 3:15.
The Ragin Cajuns next game will be against Tulane on the 21st and that game will be played at 11 AM at Cajun Field. ESPN-U will televise the game. U-L Lafayette is off to a 2-and-0 start after beating Kennesaw State 34-10.
