Ground has been broken on the long awaited Jimmie Davis Bridge replacement project. The 360 million dollar project will be a new bridge connecting south Bossier City and Shreveport. DOTD Secretary Joe Donahue.

The new bridge will have two more lanes, a median, and three spaces for U-turns.

Today in Shreveport, the annual the governor’s on conference Juvenile Justice gets underway. Chair of the Governor’s Board on Juvenile Justice, Vi-eve Kohrs says the conference serves as a platform for networking and building partnerships among participants committed to reforming and improving outcomes for at-risk youth.

Two people were arrested, and 33 dogs rescued from poor living conditions in a Jamestown residence in Bienville Parish. Colleen Crain has the story.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office has ruled the death of an infant left in the backseat of a car last month as an accident. The child was in the vehicle for the entire day. The parent told deputies they planned to drop the toddler off at daycare and didn’t realize the child was in the vehicle until the parent went to the day care facility to pick up the child.
