At LSU preseason camp, Coach Brian Kelly says the next three days will go a long way towards establishing a depth chart, especially for the defensive secondary. The coaches are still looking for more consistency.

Sophomore Ashton Stamps has had a strong camp. He has the most pass break-ups, so there’s a good chance he’ll start at one of the cornerback positions.

One of the more tighter position battles is at punter. Redshirt junior Peyton Todd is competing with Louisiana Tech transfer Blake Ochsendorf. Kelly says both guys lack consistency….

Starting defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory was back at practice yesterday after missing a good portion of Tuesday’s practice with a knee injury.

The Saints have a couple more days of practice before they head to San Francisco to face the 49ers on Sunday night. Quarterback Derek Carr has looked good over the last couple of days, he completed his first 11 pass attempts in a competitive period before Alontae Taylor broke up a slant pass to Chris Olave. That’s according to Luke Johnson of the Advocate.

Sixteen days left before the Ragin Cajuns kick off the season against Grambling on August 31st. Coach Michael Desormeaux has yet to settle on a starting quarterback between Chandler Fields and Ben Woolridge. Desormeaux says who ever takes care of the ball better will start…
