Will he or won’t he play against the Carolina Panthers? That’s the question surrounding Saints quarterback Drew Brees. It’s been reported that orthopedic surgeon and LSU alum Dr. James Andrews examined the MRI scans of Brees’ injured shoulder and confirmed the original diagnosis that the veteran QB has a bruised rotator cuff. This means there’s a chance number nine will play against the Panthers, depending on how well his shoulder responds to the treatments he’ll get this week.

LSU could face Syracuse’s third, fourth and even fifth string quarterbacks in Saturday’s game at the Carrier Dome. The Orange’s starter suffered an achilles injury in the season opener and then freshman Eric Dungey suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit last week and is not expected to play Saturday. Tigers defensive coordinator Kevin Steele says Syracuse is more of a running team anyways…

In the latest high school football polls…St. Mary’s is ranked number one in Class One-A, Sterlington is the top ranked team in Two-A, University is ranked number one in Three-A, Neville is number one in Four-A and Rummer is number one in Five-A.

Neville defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence found out that he’ll play in the Under Armour Game in January. Neville Coach Mickey McCarty will be coaching one of the teams.
