LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and wide receiver Kyren Lacy have been named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwwll AWard, which goes to the most outstanding player in college football. Joe Burrow is the only one to win the award from LSU.

McNeese linebacker Micah Davey has been named a first team preseason all-American by Stats Perform FCS. Nicholls defensive back Tyler Morton was also a first-team selection. Colonels offensive lineman is a second-team selection.

Former LSU beach volleyball stars Kristen Nuss and Tayrn Kloth improved to 2-and-0 in pool play at the Paris Olympics with a 21-16, 21,16 win over Australia. The number two seeded team in Olympic tournament will conclude pool play on Thursday afternoon against China.

Former LSU star Paul Skenes received a no-decision in last night’s start against Houston. Skenes allowed one earned run in six innings and struck out six, including former LSU star Alex Bregman. But Bregman also got a hit off of Skenes. Pittsburgh ended up winning the game five to three.
