Will he or won’t he play against the Carolina Panthers. ESPN’s Ed Werder has learned that orthopedic surgeon and LSU alum Doctor James Andrews examined the MRI scans of Drew Brees’ injured shoulder and confirmed the original diagnosis that the veteran QB has a bruised rotator cuff. That means there’s a chance number nine will play against the Panthers, but it depends on how well his shoulder responds to the treatments he’ll get this week.

In the latest high school football polls…St. Mary’s is ranked number one in Class One-A, Sterlington is the top ranked team in Two-A, University is ranked number one in Three-A, Neville is number one in Four-A and Rummer is number one in Five-A.

Neville defensive lineman Rashard Lawrence found out today he’ll play in the Under Armour Game in January. Neville Coach Mickey McCarty will be coaching one of the teams.

LSU will play for the first time ever at Syracuse this Saturday. The Orange are only averaging 28-thousand fans this season in three home games. But Coach Les Miles bets the Syracuse fans will be ready for the LSU Tigers…

Kick-off is at 11 AM central time, noon easten. Miles says he’ll get the players up four hours before game time that day.

It looks like Syracuse will be down to its third string quarterback for Saturday’s game. Senior Terrel Hunt went down with an achilles tendon injury in the season opener, his backup, freshman Eric Dungey, took a helmet-to-helmet hit last week in the win over Central Michigan and is not expected to play against the Tigers. Austin Wilson and Zach Mahoney are expected to take snaps against LSU.
