We are expecting to find out more about the injury to Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ shoulder on Wednesday. ESPN has reported that Brees has a bruised rotator cuff and the team is waiting to see how the injury responds to treatment. If Brees can’t play this Sunday against Carolina, former Louisiana Tech standout Luke McCown will get the start. Saints sideline reporter Kristian Garic says the Saints are already off to an 0-and-2 start and they could be in a bigger hole, if Brees can’t play for a couple of weeks…

With Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo out for eight weeks, Dallas is looking for depth. Former LSU Tiger Matt Flynn is reportedly working out for Dallas today.

Thanks to a 2-0 start, LSU is considered one of the favorites to win the SEC West. Coach Les Miles says he wants his team to keep looking to improve as they geat ready for their next game…

In this week’s high school football polls…St. Mary’s is the new number one ranked team in Class One-A. Sterlington has moved to the top spot in Class Two-A, ahead of Notre Dame of Crowley. In Three-A, University High has moved back into the top spot ahead of Amite. Neville remains number one in Four-A, and Rummel is still ranked number one in Five-A.
