A Metairie youth pastor believes Louisiana should become an independent nation and no longer regulated by the Federal government. Brooke Thorington has more.

Louisiana State Parks are celebrating their 90-year anniversary with free day-use admission to all Louisiana state parks and historic sites on Saturday, July 13. Assistant Secretary of State Parks Brandon Burris says in 1934 they oversaw three state parks. Today, they operate 21 state parks, 14 historic sites, and a preservation area. And he says their mission statement hasn’t changed.
