LSU announced upgrades coming to Death Valley today as part of their 100 Years of Tiger Stadium celebration. The school will add new video boards in the north end zone and corners of the south endzone with the northern board set to be double the size of its predecessor. It will be flanked by two new speaker towers, and 11 new LED ribbon boards have been added around the stadium with LED lights also installed in the Chute and field tunnels. LSU also launched the Give 100 campaign where fans receive commemorative items with a contribution to Bayou traditions, the Official Collective of LSU Athletics. The full 100th anniversary celebration will take place October 12th when the Tigers host Ole Miss. Former LSU safety Jamal Adams agreed on a deal with the Titans today. The seven year vet and former all-pro and pro bowler was the sixth overall pick by the Jets in 2017 and spent the last five seasons in Seattle. the 28-year-old had an NFL record 9.5 sacks as a DB in his debut season with the Seahawks but has struggled with injuries and setbacks since then. He’ll reunite with Jets defensive back coach Dennard Wilson who is now the Titans defensive coordinator.
The Pelicans will tip-off Summer League play tomorrow in Las Vegas against the Timberwolves. All 30 NBA teams will play four games over the next 8 days with the top four teams advancing to the playoffs. New Orleans summer league roster is headlined by last year’s 14th overall pick Jordan Hawkins and this year’s additions, Baylor center Yves Missi and Kentucky guard Antonio Reeves. They’ll take on Minnesota and eighth overall pick Rob Dillingham at 4:00.
Louisiana Tech Men’s Basketball announced their 2024-25 Conference USA schedule. The 18-game slate will see the bulldogs play every conference opponent twice both home and away. CUSA play tips off January 2 when the Bulldogs visit UTEP and concludes in Ruston March 6 as the Dunkin’ Dogs host New Mexico Sate. The CUSA Basketball Championship will return to Huntsville, Alabama March 11-15.
UL-Lafayette announced Head Coach Mike Desormeaux, o-lineman AJ Gillie, and linebacker K.C. Ossai will represent the Cajuns at Sun Belt Conference Football Media Days. The two-day event will take place July 23rd and 24th in New Orleans at the Marriott Warehouse Arts District. Sun Belt West Division Programs like the Cajuns will participate on Wednesday the 24th.
