LSU has landed another star pitcher out of the transfer portal in UC San Diego’s Anthony Eyanson. The righty was one of the nation’s top arms last season posting a 3.07 ERA with 85 strikeouts in 82 innings. He becomes the twelfth transfer addition to the Tigers’ 2025 class and eighth pitcher.
Former LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese extended her double-double streak to 14 games yesterday in a 78-69 win over the Atlanta Dream. The Chicago Sky rookie has already been named an all-star and claimed the record for most double-doubles in a row in just 21 games as a pro. The Sky will return to action tonight against the Liberty.
The US Men’s National Soccer Team fired coach Gregg Berhalter after a disappointing performance at the 2024 Copa America where the team failed to make it out the group stage. Team USA basketball celebrated their first win together after an 86-72 victory over Team Canada last night. Young star Anthony Edwards led Team USA with 13 points off the bench after a slow start for the squad who missed their first 6 shots of the night. Saints legend Steve Gleason will be honored with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY’s for his contributions to helping those living with ALS. The former Saints safety founded nonprofit Team Gleason following his own ALS diagnosis in 2011, helped pass the Steve Gleason Act in 2018 to ensure the availability of life-sustaining communication devices, and became the first football player to receive the Congressional Gold Medal in 2020.
