Fournette’s showing through two games has him as an early front-runner for the Heisman Trophy.

Tulane quarterback Tanner Lee threw for 277 yards and a touchdown as the Green Wave blasted Maine 38-7. Ohio defeated Southeastern Louisiana 35-14, Incarnate Word beat Nicholls State 20-10, McNeese State got past Stephen F. Austin 28-14, and Mississippi State crushed Northwestern State 62-13.

It took Kansas State three overtimes to defeat Louisiana Tech 39-33. The Bulldogs held a 10-6 lead at the half, but the Wildcats came back to take the lead late in the fourth quarter. Tech kicker Jonathan Barnes’ 45 yard field goal as time expired sent the game to extra time. The Bulldogs couldn’t answer Kansas State’s touchdown in the third overtime. Tech quarterback Jeff Driskel had another impressive outing, throwing for 314 yards and one touchdown.

The Saints are 0-2 on the season after losing to Tampa Bay 26-19 in front of home crowd at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The Saints had a brief lead in the 2nd quarter, but the Buccaneers took control in the 3rd quarter and three New Orleans turnovers were too much to overcome. Coach Sean Payton says the Bucs were the better team…
