A Ragin Cajuns legend has been named as the new head coach of the U-L Lafayette softball team. Crowley native Alyson Habetz was a two-sport star for the Cajuns in the early 1990s and led the team to the Women’s College World Series in 1993. Habetz went on to coach at Alabama as an assistant for 25 years. Her former coach Yvette Girouard credits athletics director Bryan Maggard for convincing Habetz to take the job…

Less than 24 hours after finishing as the runner up in the College World Series with Texas A-and-M, Jim Schossnagle was hired as the head coach at Texas. LSU’s Director of Baseball Operations Brent Haring is the new head coach at Nicholls. Haring was previously an assistant at BYU and Utah Tech.

The Pelicans have the 21st overall pick in tonight’s NBA draft. Could New Orleans swing a draft day trade involving Brandon Ingram, one of their top players. Ingram is entering the final year of his contract. Jake Madison, host of the Locked on Pelicans podcast says the team wants to build around power forward Zion Williamson and trading Ingram would help shake up the roster…

LSU men’s basketball has released its roster for the upcoming season and Trey’Dez Green from Zachary High School is listed on it. Green signed to play at LSU as a tight end, but looks like he’ll also play basketball after the football season ends.
