Authorities say an officer involved shooting in Alexandria has left one man dead. They say 27-year-old Bobby Anderson of Alexandria was shot and killed by a US Marshals Violent Offender Task Force member while they were attempting to serve arrest warrants. It’s reported that Anderson was armed and threatening officers which resulted in a Task Force member firing his weapon. Anderson was wanted for two counts of attempted second degree murder and several other felony charges.

Seven parish leaders in southeast Louisiana call on the next governor to make passenger train service between Baton Rouge and New Orleans a reality.
