An alleged accomplice has been arrested in connection to the murder of Callie Brunett of Loranger and the kidnapping of her two daughters and the subsequent murder of the three-year-old daughter. Jackson police report, 32-year-old Victoria Cox been arrested. The children were found along with suspect Daniel Callahan in Jackson, Mississippi Thursday afternoon. Jackson PD has also arrested a second person allegedly involved, 32-year-old Victoria Cox. Police believe she has a romantic relationship with Callahan. Cox is in custody and being questioned by Jackson PD.
The Amber Alert for two girls from Loranger who ended up in Mississippi is being questioned. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards says the alert was issued by Louisiana State Police three hours after it was requested Thursday morning. Edwards told New Orleans Fox8 news he’s frustrated and that he’s reached out to the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association about the delay. State Police have yet to comment. The FBI is now the lead agency in this investigation.
