Governor Bobby Jindal today lost his lawsuit to challenge Common Core nationally. The Administration claimed the education standards represented a federal overreach, but the US District judge in Baton Rouge said there was no evidence to support such a claim. Jindal’s lawyer says they planned to appeal.
State Police say an attempted hit and run in Iberia Parish has left a Grant Parish woman dead. Master Trooper Brooks David says 35-year-old Angela Brown of Pollock hit a car on LA 86 then, and as she tried to flee, ran off the road and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. David says authorities have linked Brown to a second hit and run that occurred just before the fatal crash…:
