LSU’s baseball season ended just two outs away from hosting a super regional and while some fans are focused on what could have been, LSU Head Coach Jay Johnson is focusing on what did happen. Johnson spoke to the media after the Tigers loss in the Chapel Hill Regional championship and he says that he’s learned a lot from this year’s team.

In the meantime, LSU baseball has been rebuilding its roster after losing nine players to the transfer portal including Outfielder Paxton Kling. The Tigers have received commitments from some talented portal players including USF pitcher Chandler Dorsey and Indiana State slugger Luis Hernandez. Hernandez is coming off a stellar 2024 season batting .359, hitting 23 home runs, and having a 1.114 OPS.

Former LSU Beach volleyball players Taryn Kloth and Kristen Nuss have made the US Olympic beach volleyball team and the duo will represent the US in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Nuss and Kloth will be the first two former LSU Beach volleyball players to ever be in the Olympics and Nuss says that it all started in Baton Rouge.

The duo had a perfect 36 and 0 record in their final season with LSU and they now rank second in the world.

The New Orleans Saints minicamp started yesterday and some familiar faces were at the mandatory practices. Alvin Kamara and Marshon Lattimore both participated.

Nicholls head coach Mike Silva is heading to Jonesboro, Arkansas to coach the Arkansas State Red Wolves after the organization hired him yesterday. Silva had a very successful two years at Nicholls where he led the colonels to two NCAA regionals and was named the 2023 Southland Coach of the year.
