The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office is trying to make sense of a murder-suicide in Central that left four people dead, including three brothers. Eric Gill reports…:

The SEC and the ACC announced today that the September 26th non-conference road game between LSU and Syracuse will kick off at 11am. It will be televised either on ABC or ESPN according to league offices. This will be the Tigers first visit to the Carrier Dome for a football game and just the third meeting between the teams.
Another Confederate monuments hearing is set to take place in New Orleans this evening at the meeting of the Mid City Neighborhood. Mayor Mich Landrieu wants four structures declared a nuisance and removed from public view. Senator David Vitter’s gubernatorial campaign continues to criticize Landrieu over the issue saying the mayor should be more focused on crime in New Orleans. ULM Political Science professor Joshua Stockley says positioning Landrieu as an opponent, even if he’s not running for governor, will help Vitter with conservatives across the state.

Due to his low polling numbers, Governor Bobby Jindal once again will not be on stage with the big guys this Wednesday for the second round of nationally televised GOP debates. Jindal will be among four candidates who will debate at 5pm on CNN before the 10 leading Republican presidential candidates take the stage at 7pm.
