It looked like the Saints were on the verge of pulling off a come from behind win on the road, but a couple of fourth quarter touchdowns by the Cardinals resulted in a 31-19 loss for New Orleans. The Saints played several rookies and first-time starters. Rookie linebacker Hau-oli Kikaha forced a fumble and receiver Willie Snead made his NFL debut by reeling in a 63-yard pass from quarterback Drew Brees that led to one of four field goals by new kicker Dustin Hocker. That second game is this Sunday against Tampa Bay. The Bucs had a brutal opening to the season as they were blasted by Tennessee 42-14.

On September 26th, get ready to wake up early to watch the Tigers. LSU’s road game against Syracuse in the Carrier Dome will kick-off at 11 AM and it will be televised by ESPN or ABC. LSU’s home opener is this Saturday against Auburn. Kick-off for that one is at 2:30.

UL Lafayette running back Elijah McGuire had a big game Saturday as he tied the school record with five touchdowns in a victory over Northwestern State. Four of the TDs came in the first-half.
