In a wild game last night, Western Kentucky outlasted Louisiana Tech 41-38. The Bulldogs kicked a field goal with less than a minute to go to cut the lead to three, but the ensuing onside kick went out of bounds. Tech quarterback Jeff Driskel was impressive throwing for 357 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.

A lot of state colleges will hit the gridiron Saturday: Tulane faces number 15 Georgia Tech, UL-Lafayette hosts Northwestern State, Nicholls State travels to ULM, McNeese State hosts Incarnate Word, and Southeastern Louisiana takes on Florida Tech.

The Saints kick off the 2015 regular season Sunday at Arizona. Saints radio color analyst Hokie Gajan says there is concern about the defense, who gave up some big plays and only tallied two sacks in four preseason games. Gajan says this is about as uncomfortable he’s been about the Saints heading into a season opener…

The Franklin Parish High School football team returned to the field last night for the first time since the death of Tyrell Cameron. Cameron died after colliding with another player during a punt return last Friday night. The Patriots were defeated by Wossman 43-18.
