The Pelicans season ended last night with a 97 to 89 loss to Oklahoma City as the Thunder completed the four-game sweep. New Orleans won 49 games this season. It goes down as one of the most successful regular seasons in New Orleans Pelicans history, but the team failed to win a playoff game.

The Pelicans could be in a position to trade Brandon Ingram, who has one more year left on his contract.

Opelousas High School has its football championship title back. Back in February, the LHSAA stripped Opelousas of the title because of an ineligible player, but an agreement has been reached with the LHSAA that returns the state title to the St. Landry Parish High School. Coach Jimmy Zachery will remain on probation for one year but will be allowed to coach the team. He says his main concern was making sure the team retained what they rightfully deserved,,,

The division two non-select state championship was the first in the school’s history.

LSU gymnastics just won its first national championship and it’s top gymnast Haleigh Bryant is returning for a fifth year. Bryant also won the NCAA all-around championship and she is the all-time perfect ten leader in LSU history with 18.

ON the baseball diamond tonight, LSU hosts Grambling, Louisiana Tech is at ULM, Southeastern Louisiana is at Tulane and Nicholls hosts Southern.
