LSU baseball team begins a nine-game homestand tonight as they host Nicholls. It’s expected that Thatcher Hurd will get another chance on the mound tonight. He’s lost his role as a weekend starter. Coach Jay Johnson says they are working with Hurd to get him back on track…

Johnson also says they will be tested by Nicholls tonight. The Colonels won the Southland Tournament last year and played in the NCAA Tournament. They are 27-14 this season and they just swept Houston Christian.

Also tonight…ULM hosts Little Rock. The Warhawks defeated the Trojans 11 to 1 on March 5th. Northwestern State hosts Grambling State at 6 PM. The Demons won the first matchup of the season.

Tonight in Lafayette…the seventh ranked LSU softball team visits the 19th ranked Cajuns. The Tigers defeated U-L Lafayette four to two last week. Since then the Cajuns have won four in a row, including a sweep over Southern Miss. Coach Gerry Glasco’s team is 33-15 and they are seven wins from a 25th consecutive 40-win season….

Former LSU guard Hailey Van Lith tells the Associated Press she has not committed T-C-U. She visited the Horned Frogs but has not made a decision on where she’ll play next season.

Pelicans forward Zion Williamson says his left hamstring injury is not as bad as the right hamstring injury he suffered last year, but no timetable has established on when he’ll return.
