The Saints face the Green Bay Packers tonight in the final preseason game of the year. It’s a big game for former Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin. He’s expected to take plenty of snaps and needs a good performance to make the team. Kick-off is at 6 PM.

Griffin’s alma mater, Tulane, begins its season tonight as the Green Wave host Duke. Tulane went three and nine last season and lost to the Blue Devils.

In Natchitoches…Northwestern State will host Southeastern Louisiana. The Lions are the two-time defending champs in the Southland. They have a new quarterback this season, UL Lafayette transfer D’Shaie Landor. S-L-U Coach Ron Roberts says Landor is a gifted player….

Is it possible Saints Coach Sean Payton could get some of his 2012 Bountygate suspension salary back now that Tom Brady won his case against the NFL? Les Miles is hoping his youngest son will one day play for him at LSU. Tigers recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson has offered Ben Miles a scholarship to play at LSU. Miles is a fullback for the Catholic High Bears in Baton Rouge. And Coach says the scholarship offer is deserving:
