Hailey Van Lith gave LSU women’s basketball a big lift on Sunday as the Lady Tigers defeated Tennessee 75-60. Van Lith scored a season-high 26 points, including four three-pointers on a day when LSU as a team missed 59 shots. The win on Sunday locked up the second seed for LSU in the SEC Tournament and they also moved up four spots to number nine in the latest AP Top 25 poll.

After scoring a total of seven runs on Friday and Saturday, the second ranked LSU baseball team defeated Stony Brooke 18 to 10 yesterday. Jared Jones hit his fourth home run. Louisiana Tech improved to 7-0 after they were swept by Kent State.

After back-to-back wins over Top 25 teams, the LSU men’s basketball team had a disappointing night against Mississippi State, losing to the Bulldogs 87-67. Second-chance points were a big stat. Mississippi State had 16 offensive rebounds and had 27 second-chance points to LSU’s ten. Coach Matt McMahon’s team also had 15 turnovers…

The Tigers will host Georgia tomorrow. Tyrell Ward is day to day with a hip injury and Jalen Cook has leg soreness.

Louisiana Tech’s Isaiah Crawford has been named the Conference USA men’s basketball player of the week. On Saturday, he recorded his third double-double of the season, 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Bulldogs win over New Mexico state. Tech completes a three-game road trip on Wednesday against Western Kentucky.
