LSU running back Trey Holly and two others have been charged with attempted second degree murder for a shooting that injured two others last Friday in Farmerville.

23-year-old Kayley Thibeaux of Carencro has been charged with vehicular homicide as Lafayette Police suspect she was drunk when she drove her vehicle into a parked car, which started a chain reaction involving other parked cars, pinning 40-year-old Jermaine Britton of Breaux Bridge between vehicles. Britton died from his injuries.

Governor Jeff Landry has announced the state will not accept federal dollars that can be used to supply free breakfasts and lunches to thousands of kids when they are out of school for the summer. The governor’s office says the Summer EBT program is a pandemic era related program that costs the state seven million dollars. A Landry spokesperson says the pandemic is over and there are other social safety net programs available.
