The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man found in a remote location in the parish. They say hunters discovered the body of 33-year-old Jody Barlow of Starks near the Sabine River. Authorities have ruled the death a homicide. The exact cause of death is pending the coroner’s investigation.

Former President George W. Bush will be in New Orleans today to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
