State police is investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting that happened Saturday morning in Avoyelles Parish. Authorities say officers responded to a home where a male was damaging property and making bomb threats to his neighbors. When officers arrived, the male went to his home and barricaded himself inside. During communication with officers, the suspect exited the home with a firearm and gunfire was exchanged. No officers were injured.

The race for the Presidential Republican nomination is down to two candidates – Former President Donald Trump and Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley. LSU The Shreveport Political Science Professor Jeff Sadow doesn’t believe Haley can overcome Trump’s lead.
